What a fantastic month it's been here in Redcliffe, with so many new activities starting and talk of even more to come. We have now started running Tai Chi and Zumba Gold classes on Mondays and Thursdays at 11am in the Methodist Church. The activities have been really enjoyed by the local older people and we are looking forward to seeing these groups grow.
This month also saw the start of our new walking group! The group of local women were lucky enough to start their walk on a beautiful spring day and had a fabulous time in the sunshine exploring along the river and parts of old and new Bristol. The group shared memories of the changing landscapes and enjoyed discovering new sights. Who knew so much could be taken in on, on a short walk! The walking group would especially like to thank walk leaders Margi Johnson and Healthy Walks Coordinator Cheryl Martin for such an informative and delightful walk. Overall they are really looking forward to the many walks to come and are urging others to come along too! So why not come and join in every other Wednesday at 10am, meeting at St Mary Redcliffe Church steps for a FREE and friendly stroll!
Currently in Bedminster LinkAge runs an art group at the Elephant House, but that is soon set to move! From the 17th April the group will be moving into bigger premises in Redcliffe, to accomodate more people. Jenny Mizel will continute to run the group and it will run from 2:15 to 4:15pm on a Friday afternoon in the Church Hall on Prewett Street in Redcliffe. There are plenty of bus stops nearby on Redcliffe Hill for people traveling from further afield. The art sessions cost just £5 for two hours which includes all materials! The Art group are looking forward to welcoming new members who want to try their hand at Art and enjoy being creative! All abilities are welcome and no experience is necessary – just a willingness to give it a go!
So keep your eyes peeled for any new groups or dates to go in the diary and for more information please contact Redcliffes Community Development Officer Hannah Currant on 07904 096 544.
