On Wednesday 11th November, LinkAge ran a workshop to create a variety of decorations for our Christmas tree at this year’s Treefest.
Treefest is a weeklong tree festival, held at St Mary Redcliffe Church just before Christmas. Businesses, schools, community groups and charities, are invited to decorate a Christmas tree to show how imaginative and innovative they are, but also to create a tree that represents their organisation. All money raised from the festival will go to three local charities.
Eight participants attended the workshop, and all said that they really really enjoyed the afternoon. Quirky decorations were made out of old What’s on Guides, Walking Maps, Summer of Age programmes and other publicity materials. And there are still more decorations to be made, but you’ll just have to wait, and pop on down to St Mary Redcliffe Church to see the final product.
