LinkAge would like to say a big thank you to local business Triconnex who donated £1,500 to support 9 Christmas events across Bristol.
The donation supported the Malcolm X Elders, Golden Agers, Evergreen Club, North Bristol Advice Centre, Henbury Coffee Morning Group, North Bristol Community Project, Emmanuel Chapel and Sansway House Day Nursery, to run seasonal events that supported over 190 older people.
One of the events saw Sansway House Day Nursery in Lawrence Weston, organise for the children who attend the nursery to visit the older people at local residential home Blaise Weston Court. On the day of the event, the children sang festive songs and also gave a card and gift to each of the older people. From this event the Nursery has now arranged for this to become a regularly monthly visit.
We are very pleased that it enabled so many people to get together at what can be a lonely time for people. If these become regular events so much the better.” Nick Haskins, Business Development Manager at Triconnex.
We would like to thank Triconnex for donating such a fantastic amount of money. The money donated supported community groups to alleviate some of the loneliness and social isolation that older people experience throughout the festive season.
