As part of this year’s Celebrating Age Festival, Henbury and Brentry held a Taster Day for over 40 local older people. The day saw a range of activities take place, including Ballroom, Latin and Line Dancing, New Age Kurling, Ping Pong and Tai Chi.
There was a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day, with lots of laughter filling Henbury Village Hall. Tai Chi tutor Frank was even able to run his taster session in the beautiful gardens of the Village Hall, as we were blessed on the day with some glorious autumn sunshine.
On the morning of the Taster Day we ran a Macmillan Coffee Morning. There was a beautiful selection of yummy treats and cakes for participants to indulge in, raising £56 for the charity.
A big thank you goes out to the volunteers whose support really helped to make the event possible. We would also like to thank Blaise Community Garden, North Bristol Advice Centre and Avon Fire and Rescue service, amongst others, for holding informative stalls for the local older people.
We’re delighted that the event was a success and are already looking forward to next year’s celebrations.
