On Friday 16th June, 9 students from The Prince’s Trust Achieve Club at Colston’s Girls’ School, kindly hosted a free film showing for 15 LinkAge participants.
The older people who attended the afternoon enjoyed a film showing in the School Theatre of ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ over some popcorn, cakes, biscuits and other refreshments. On the day, The Lord Mayor of Bristol Councillor Lesley Alexander also attended, as one of her priorities for this year is reducing isolation in the elderly.
The afternoon was enjoyed by all who attended, with participants saying…
“I think that it is a wonderful idea to bring the generations together for something like this. The girls have worked so hard and I really enjoyed it,” said Mary.
“Excellent. A well-organised event for LinkAge. The staff and students looked after us. Great to see ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ on the big screen. Hope the school do another event,” said John.
“The whole event was a very friendly, pleasant experience. Well done Colston Girls!” said Ray.
We would like to say thank you to the students and staff at Colston's Girls' School, who put a lot of effort into organising and fundraising for this event.
