On Wednesday 8th June, 50 older people attended LinkAge's Tea Party in Whitehall and St George, to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday.
The fun and enjoyable day saw many dressed in red, white and blue, matching the twenty metres of red, white and blue bunting that decorated the hall. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with a very British cup of tea before the fun and games began. Each table had a quiz to complete, with the winning table receiving a prize fit for the royals. The day also saw a raffle, entertainment and dancing, led by Barrie our local dance tutor.
Pulling out all the stops, we were even honoured with a royal appearance from the Queen herself (one of our members dressed up of course!)
We would like to thank the volunteers who supported with the running of the day, as well as volunteer Eve from our Arts and Crafts group, who very kindly knitted the bunting that decorated the hall.
We look forward to celebrating the Queen’s birthday next year.
