The LinkAge BME Elders Groups Consortium has passed its 2nd Anniversary!
Two LinkAge hubs joined together to put on a Ping tournament on Monday 3rd November. The event was organised by Sue Carpenter who coaches two groups one at St, Lukes Church and the other at the Beehive.
Festive season has begun and to accompany all the jingles street decorations, LinkAge has organised a Christmas quiz for older residents of Stockwood and the surrounding area.
A major report presented to government last week highlights the successes achieved through the Active, Connected, Engaged (ACE) programme which targets older people and is led by researchers at Bath University, in collaboration with researchers at the Universities of Bristol, Birmingham and the West of England. As a low-cost and sustainable intervention, ACE has received positive feedback and has already been adopted by LinkAge, a Bristol-based organisation tackling loneliness and inactivity.
Bristol City Council has now launched a city-wide consultation on the future of Bristols libraries. You can give them your views and suggestions on libraries at www.bristolfuturelibraries.co.uk
LinkAge and Young Bristol have recently partnered to programme a new regular event in Ashton Vale. The Ashton Silver Social is a brand new group for over 55s taking place at Young Bristols Ashton Vale Youth Club every Tuesday, 10am 12 Midday.
On Monday 17th November LinkAge team members spoke at two conferences in London. Russell Cowan, at the Campaign to End Loneliness Learning Network Inaugural Event. Claire Miller spoke at the Public Service Transformation Network Conference, Elders as Assets.

The SCDA would like to offer you an opportunity to meet other people affected by dementia and enjoy a fun and interactive workshop facilitated by Bristol charity, Alive! Activities will include music, gentle exercise, poetry, quizzes and much, much more. Tea, coffee and biscuits also provided.
