2015 saw the launch of an exciting new project Get Online with LinkAge, a 5 week computer course for complete beginners which aims to get those attending more confident and more independent online.

Tai Chi is a popular activity across North Bristol. Sessions are run by the fantastic Frank Pring at The Public Hall in Shirehampton, Studland Court in Henleaze and New Kingsland URC in Henbury. Recent feedback has shown the amazing impact Tai Chi has had on our attendees.

Sunday afternoon saw the start of a NEW social group ‘Party at Pensfield’ in St Werburghs. The social group is part of a new project, launched by LinkAge and the local community, that aims to make Sunday afternoons more entertaining for those over the age of 55.

We recently said a heartfelt thank you and goodbye to Mike, a volunteer running LinkAge’s ‘Southbank Cinema Club’. However, endings always bring new beginnings and we are delighted to introduce our new volunteer, Hatty, to the role.

Last month saw the launch of NEW sport activities at the St Pauls Sports Academy in our Lawrence Hill, Easton and Ashley Hub. The day gave those over the age of 55 the opportunity to try their hand at a wide variety of sports.

Are you aged 55+? Do you live in or nearby to Redcliffe? Then you are warmly invited to come along on Thursday 12th February to meet Hannah Currant; the new Community Development Worker and have your say about what activities you’d like to see in the Redcliffe area.

LinkAge joined forces with 3aaa and Envision Bristol to offer an afternoon of 1 to 1 technology support to older people from across the City. Nearly 30 older people came armed with laptops, tablets, mobile phones and digital cameras, each with individual requests for support and questions about their piece of technology.
