During 2015, LinkAge worked with Healthwatch Bristol to reach out to local older people across Bristol to gain feedback on key issues that were important to them when it came to their health and wellbeing.
LinkAge Bristol’s Intergenerational work, has been featured in the Bank of Ireland’s ‘Inspiring Partnership’ video series. The series showcases several unique partnerships from around the world, whose work is helping to make a difference to peoples lives.

On Wednesday 24th February, 20 older people were invited to an ‘Afternoon of Tea and Entertainment’ as part of UWE’s Student Volunteering Week.
Laughter filled Cineworld Cinema in Hengrove on Thursday 18th February, after a local Wilkinson’s branch fundraised for 262 older people to watch the new Dad’s Army film.
The Redcliffe Hub Advisory Group are delighted to be teaming up with the St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School Swing band, for an Afternoon Social on Tuesday 15th March.
On Wednesday 17th February, Bristol Grammar School held a Community Friendship Lunch for 70 older people.
During 2015, LinkAge was independently evaluated by a Student from the University of Bristol, in accordance with the requirements of the degree of Master of Science by advanced study in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law.
Yesterday, volunteers from our Redcliffe Hub hit Asda with their cheer, handing out brochures to everyone and anyone who might be eligible! One of our volunteers helping on the day, devised a poem to encourage people to take a read!
Already in 2016, over 200 young people have taken part in our interactive, fun and engaging workshops that aim to raise awareness around the realities of living with loneliness, but also the positive solutions that are on offer to tackle this issue. With an average of 80% of those involved saying that their perceptions have changed after taking part these workshops, it’s clear to see that they are going down a storm.
