On 16th and 23rd March, LinkAge held cooking workshops in partnership with No.10 The People’s Kitchen and Merchants Academy, as part of our Restorative Justice Programme.

LinkAge Bristol has secured funding from the Cabinet Office to create a powerful partnership with the University West of England, Business West and Ardent Communications. This innovative partnership will help the charity to move forward to a more sustainable future enabling it to continue its work to reduce loneliness and isolation for thousands of older people across Bristol.

On the 3rd March, five teams battled it out at Shirehampton’s Fundraising Quiz for the ultimate prize…the wooden spoon!

On Thursday 10th March, LinkAge volunteer Jacques Hann was invited to attend Bristol Health and Care Awards as a nominee for Volunteer of the Year.

LinkAge’s Senior Community Development and Intergenerational Worker Ricky Bush, was invited as a key speaker to this year’s ‘Generations Working Together’ conference, on Wednesday 2nd March.

On Wednesday 2nd March LinkAge launched its ‘Step Into My Shoes’ exhibition at the Engine Shed in Bristol. The exhibition has received great publicity on both Made in Bristol TV and Dr Phil Hammond’s show on BBC Radio Bristol.

At the beginning of March, LinkAge’s Henbury and Brentry Hub held its first ever toddler and older people Intergenerational session. LinkAge worked with local partner organisation Bristol Charities, who run the Barstaple Day Centre in Brentry, to bring a group of pre-schoolers and their parents into the day centre, to do a music and movement class.

LinkAge’s annual dance with the Trinity Centre is back on Friday 15th April, for an afternoon of music, dancing and socialising for the over 55’s.
