Local charity Gathering Voices will be working with LinkAge Bristol on the next phase of their new intergenerational project ‘Blue Green Bristol’.
This exciting project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, will bring young and older people from across the city together to explore the heritage and contemporary aspects of the green environment and the blue waterways of the River Frome and Avon. The project will see a series of creative workshops; focus on how spaces and waterways relate to people’s individual and collective lives, histories and memories.
Gathering Voices Project Director Hannah Klewin said, “Our charity Gathering Voices are thrilled to be working with LinkAge and their participants on this exciting new intergenerational project. We’re certain that this opportunity for younger and older to come together to explore the rick heritage of our city will be great fun, produce some memorable experiences and examples of work that will interest and inspire many others.”
LinkAge’s Senior Intergenerational Development Worker Ricky Bush said, “LinkAge are really looking forward to be working with Gathering Voices on the next phase of their Blue Green Bristol project. Intergenerational work is a big part of the work that we do as an organisation and it will be great to see both young and older people working together to shape the projects that will be taking place in their community.”
Free public workshops will start in May and will take place in the Bedminster, Shirehampton, Sea Mills and St George areas of Bristol.
