Bedminster’s Wellbeing Day was a hugely lively affair this year. Taking place at the Tobacco Factory Theatre Bar, the event attracted around 80 older people from the local area and beyond.
There was plenty to keep everyone busy throughout the day. Activities included creating with clay, gardening, chair yoga and line dancing and all were exceptionally well attended. The day had a really exciting buzz, with participants planting their own window boxes that they were able to take home, having a go on a potter’s wheel, getting free foot therapy or having a good jig along with experienced LinkAge line dancers from across the city.
As well as activities, participants were able to engage with 10 local organisations who had information stalls offering a range of useful advice around a range of topics including accessing information about local services, engaging with the local Neighbourhood Partnership, cancer support, local volunteering opportunities, home help, sight loss and dementia support. Lots of lucky people also floated away after having a free massage and manicure provided by our experienced therapists.
LinkAge are now looking forward to setting up some of the new activities featured at the event and carry the good vibe of the day forward into their ongoing community work. Thank you to everyone who came to the event and we look forward to seeing you at a LinkAge activity soon.
