On the 8th December, employees from AXA Wealth’s office in Bristol welcomed around 20 LinkAge participants for an afternoon of Christmas festivities and a tea party.
AXA made sure that the afternoon was full of fun-filled things to do. The older people had the opportunity to take part in a Christmas themed quiz and raffle. The afternoon of course wouldn’t have been complete without them being told their Christmas elf names! AXA's employees not only hosted a variety of activities, but they also made a selection of delicious homemade cakes. Each of the attendees were given a Secret Santa present from the members of staff.
Suzanne Scott, director of human resources, AXA Wealth, said about the day: “As a business we spend a lot of time helping people to prepare financially for their future to ensure they have the means to enjoy their retirement years. But what’s also really important is family and friends to share that time with. So we’ve teamed up with LinkAge Bristol, who help older people to spend time with others and create new friendships. Being able to host an event like this is something our employees were really keen to get behind – and we’ve seen that by how involved they’ve been. More than 20 people attended the event and it was lovely to see everyone talking and laughing together.”
The day proved to be a success with older people coming together from all over Bristol, meeting other participants for the first time. Everyone expressed what a good time they had on the day, enjoying lovely food with friends old and new.
