On Wednesday 24th February, 20 older people were invited to an 'Afternoon of Tea and Entertainment' as part of UWE's Student Volunteering Week.
The University of the West of England's Student Union, organised free transport to the Bower Ashton Campus for 2 hours of fun and entertainment for local older people. Those who attended had a choice of either a pub quiz or a drama workshop led by the drama society. All of this was then followed by plenty of tea, coffee, cake and biscuits to finish off the day nicely.
Participants who attended the day expressed how much they enjoyed themselves, with one saying, "Thank you for a lovely afternoon, everyone that went along enjoyed it so much and would love to go again one day. Thank you for all of the hard work."
We would like to thank the Student Union for all of their hard work and we hope to continue to work together in the future.
