LinkAge are delighted to announce that we have been chosen as the third charity to take part in the Tour of Broadmead, on Saturday 20th August.
The week long event is the finale to Bristol Shopping Quarter's Summer of Sport and will see eight charities cycle the distance of the Tour of Britain. On day one of the Tour of Broadmead, LinkAge staff, volunteers and participants will aim to cycle 168km, which is equal to the ride from Glasgow to Castle Douglas.
Ricky Bush, LinkAge’s Senior Community Development Worker said, “We would like to thank Bristol Shopping Quarter for this fantastic opportunity. Events like this really help us to raise awareness of the issue of isolation and loneliness in older people, whilst also raising vital funds that help us to continue to support local communities. This promises to be a great day and we are excited to be involved.”
On the day LinkAge will be supported by Pure Gym and passing shoppers, who will have the opportunity to take part in individual time trials in return for a small donation.
